As part of its new 'tripe-lite' strategy, TMB Books is proud to introduce Tales from the Till,
Bill Cawley's fascinating insight into life on the other side of the checkout!

With only three references to tripe, Tales from the Till is
TMB Books' lightest tripe book yet, and has already garnered rave reviews from readers.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Bill Cawley is a man of eclectic taste and knowledge. His sojourns into the realm of the paranormal somehow manage to juxtapose eloquently with an entanglement of historical narrative and wry observational commentary on twenty-first century behaviour across all sections of society.

Why would a degree-wielding, Mastermind contestant, community activist, former Councillor and ex-Santa want to record his pithy mental meanderings for posterity? His current post as leader of the ‘smile at them all, regardless’ checkout operatives gives him the opportunity to simply sit back and take the money.

Not Bill Cawley, though! No, he uses his time wisely and with an eye to the future wealth creation of his keenly honed mind's output.

He is also completely nuts, and under any other government which funded the NHS properly, would have been sectioned by now - but let's not dwell on the negative.  He is currently working on his next book,
Shadows of the Past, an anthology of his writings on the Staffordshire moorlands.

Over 300 wry, witty and sometimes moving anecdotes and observations on the human condition penned by a supermarket checkout operator with a difference!
"I found I wanted to read on after reading just a couple, and it left me hungrier for more - let's hope Mr Cawley is working on a Volume 2!"
"a humorous insight into working in a supermarket and the nation's shopping habits"

"I cannot recommend this little trove of humour and whimsical philosophical treasures highly enough, it is a little cracker"

"Funny, sad, weird and often poignant, this is a book you'll return to time after time"
