Sales of tripe in the first three months of 2022 rose by 0.24%  – the first recorded quarterly increase since 1958.  The figures, which exclude tripe for the canine market, were hailed by Tripe Marketing Board chairman Sir Norman Wrassle as “a stunning vindication of our recent marketing endeavours.”

Tripe sales have been in decline for the previous 255 quarters, although in recent years the rate of decline had started to slow significantly.  The news was welcomed by the TMB’s Head of Marketing Amadan Aibreain, although she cautioned against complacency, saying  “We know we must redouble our efforts if tripe is to stay ahead of the game.”
