The popular Tripe Marketing Board competition TripeDog 2020 opens today, with record entries expected following the rise of dog ownership during lockdown.
The competition celebrates the fascination – bordering on obsession – that the vast majority of dogs have for tripe. TMB chairman Sir Norman Wrassle said that the TMB had drafted in additional interns and volunteers to manage the contest, which is always closely fought and involves a series of online exhaustive votes. “Dogs love tripe, and humans love dogs. It’s only a small step from there to humans loving tripe,” Sir Norman said.
This year, as well as the winning dog walking away with the trophy and a selection of tripe-related gifts, their owner will win a copy of the TMB’s forthcoming TMB 2021 Diary and lifetime membership of Tripe Club.
